WWE 205 Live 5/7/2021
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/05/wwe-205-live-4302021.html
Ari Sterling vs Samir Singh with Sunil Singh
Ari Sterling is Alex Zayne from GCW and the indies. Ari shoulders him down early and Samir makes him blow a leapfrog. Ari does an outside to inside headscissors then he moonsaults off the inside middle rope to the outside. Ari takes a hard catapult over the top and to the floor.
Samir pounds on him on the insidethen puts him in the boston crab. Ari hangs onto the ropes and is pulled off, but lands on his feet. He enzugiri's Samir and then gets caught in another boston crab off a hurricanrana attempt.
Ari hits some lariats and does a running flipping leg drop to a bent over Samir. Samir tries for a tornado ddt but is thrown off then Ari puts him up for a side slam but flips him foreward in a unique move. Ari did some cool stuff here but Samir is not really the person I would want to debut with. Ari would have been much better off going against someone else who could fly like him.
We see clips of the LdF and Kushida segment this week.
Ikemen Jiro and August Grey vs Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari
Grey gets on the mic on the ramp. He says Ariya has had a problem with him since he debuted. He said it's because he is here to have fun, then introduces Jiro. Jiro doesn't have his usual music and doesn't do his entrance, but he is wearing a jacket.
Grey tries to get Jiro to take his jacket off but he declines. Jiro has a large knee brace that I don't remember him having before. Nese shoulders Jiro, but he kips up. Jiro then grabs his jacket pocket and hits Nese. Grey gets pounded on by both opponents in the corner then Nese really flurries him.
Grey hits a running headscissors and takes a back elbow from Ariya. Jiro is thrown int othe buckles and he headstands on the buckles, then hits Ariya with a pocket shot. Ariya then nails him from behind. Ariya takes over on Jiro for a bit.
Nese gets tagged in and flips over Jiro to nail Grey and stop the tag. Grey gets the tag in and beats up on both opponents. He puts Ariya on the middle tope and slides down him to the outside then he does his rope walk twisting crossbody for 2 on Ariya.
Grey goes for the tag but Jiro is not there then Grey hits a twisting suplex on Ariya for 2. Nese trips Grey then Ariya dropkicks him. Nese does an outside to in 2nd rope moonsault. They try to double suplex Grey, but Jiro catches Grey. Ariya hits a big superkick on Grey then Jiro hits palm strikes on Nese.
Grey takes a dominator/inverted bulldog combo and Jiro saves him on the pin. Jiro gets tagged in and hits a big spin kick on Nese. He hits more jacket shots then springboard back headscissors him. Jiro then asai moonsaults to the outside on both opponents. Jiro hits a neat swanton on Nese but Ariya pulls out Nese on the pin attempt. Grey dives on Ariya then Jiro flip dives on Nese.
Jiro then running enzugiri's Nese for the win. The crowd liked Jiro and this was fine, but Jiro really does deserve better than this. He should have gotten weeks of packages and should have debuted on NXT or anywhere else that wasn't Main Event or 205 Live. It's hard to see him really doing anything except being a jobber due to the gimmick he has here.
Overall thoughts: We got two debuts here and this was probably one of the more noteworthy 205 Live's because of it. It wasn't must see as no episode of 205 Live is, but it was nice to see some fresh faces.
